13 Giugno 2024Today, June 12, 2024, the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO) is launching its annual Pan-European media campaign in celebration of World Anti-Counterfeiting Day.
This year, with major sporting events such as the Paris Olympics and the UEFA European Football Championship on the horizon, the campaign focuses on sports and the negative effects of counterfeiting and piracy on the sustainability of the sports sector.
What to expect from the campaign:
EUIPO Data: Highlighting relevant data on the risks of intellectual property infringing activities in sports, their impact on the economy, and on European consumers’ behavior.
Message for fans and consumers: An appeal to watch sporting events legally and buy authorized merchandise, promoting responsible behavior.
Operation Fake Star: Presenting the results of the second edition of this operation, conducted under the EMPACT initiative, aimed at combating intellectual property crimes.
